The purpose of the Municipal financial management programme is to provide qualifying learners with a full understanding of financial management in the municipal context. Specifically, successful learners will be able to apply to apply strategic level financial management competencies to ensure effective, efficient and economical utilisation of public funds and resources at local government level.
Learners will develop competencies to manage strategic planning and budgeting processes, financial management processes and internal control, auditing and reporting processes, Legal and corporate governance processes, municipal accounting and risk management processes, cost and capital planning processes, supply chain management and project management processes.
