The aim of this programme is to fortify the capacity of bid committee members who are actively involved in bid specification, evaluation, adjudication and SCM functions that support the Bid Committee system. This programme is associated to the basic values and principles governing public administration as contained in the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa 1996, in that it promotes a high standard of professional ethics, the efficient, economic and effective use of resources and accountability.

  • Discussing elements of a Supply Chain Management model that apply to the bid committee system.
  • Applying knowledge of the applicable regulatory framework to ensure compliance.
  • Discussing the importance of ethical conduct at all stages of the bid committee process.
  • Apply knowledge of the functions of the Bid Specification Committee.
  • Apply knowledge of the functions of the Bid Evaluation Committee.
  • Apply knowledge of the functions of the Bid Adjudication Committee
